  • She is in concert this Friday in Marseille for the festival With time.

The power of electronic music and the sensitivity of French song united in one body, that of singer Suzane. Victory of the stage revelation during the last Victoires de la Musique, it will be in concert this Friday in Marseille, as part of the festival With Time (kept on time for these lines). Suzane, from Avignon, is looking forward to this meeting. "I rarely do dates in the south east, so this is an opportunity for my family, my friends and my girlfriends to see the concert", rejoices the one who gave 130 concerts last year.

This "storyteller lived on electro", as she defines herself from the age of 29, managed to combine her different passions, after a few detours. “Dance was the first discipline with which I fell in love. My body was my first musical instrument, from the age of five. I continued until my 17 years in dance studies at the Avignon Conservatory. But overnight I no longer wanted to. I was like paralyzed, ”says Suzane, referring to“ the weighing of Wednesday and the lack of education ”.

Reconnect with a passion, discover a new one

It is by going out to a club, Le Privé in Avignon, that Suzane finds the pleasure of dancing a few years later. “The DJ was playing Daft Punk's Homework album. I came from my classic bar, falling on Daft Punk made me want to dance, I found this passion, "she explains.

Rediscovering an old passion, but also discovering a new one: “I came across electro music a bit by accident, but I got a real slap. Since then I have listened to a lot, Daft Punk, Vitalic, Justice ”. A discovery that she married with her love for dance, and for the French song of which she was initiated through Barbara or Jacques Brel young, and more recently by Orelsan, Mc Solar or Diams.

“The first time I met him I felt something was going on. I felt in her eyes that it was not just a desire, but that she had that in her, ”says Chad Boccara, who has become his producer and manager for four years. To the point that he remembers very precisely having met him for the first time on April 6, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the café du temple in Paris.

"Music is a very powerful weapon"

“This ambition to combine electro and French song was something very new, it was a challenge not to distort it all. Four years ago it was a pioneer. Today there are still people who discover Suzane and who finds what she does super interesting. She has only been on the radio for a short time, ”says Chad.

Results, words that "describe everyday life" on "a very electro and quite dancing instrument". “It's a form of commitment to talk about everyday topics. I talk about what makes me angry when I feel concerned. For me music is a very powerful weapon, that's why I often talk about what makes me angry, even if I also have lighter texts, ”she says. This explains, in particular, her commitment to the feminist cause.

“Suzane is a ball of energy, it's always very intense with her, she has a lot to say. She has this incredible energy that she communicates on stage. There we feel everything, his sincerity, his energy. She makes crowds dance as much as she can make them cry, ”concludes her manager and producer.
