The highest French court has validated the requalification into an employment contract of the link between the American company Uber and one of its former drivers, a historic decision which is a first in France against the number one platform for cars with drivers (VTC). The Court of Cassation considered that the link of subordination between the driver and Uber was characterized when connecting to the platform and that the driver's independent status was therefore "fictitious". Is this the beginning of the end of uberization, this new economic model presented so far as essential? Elements of response with Julien Pillot, teacher-researcher in economics and strategy at the INSEEC School of Business & Economics, expert in the digital economy.
