“Unfortunately, Maria Antonova passed away. We were at her house this morning, talking with our daughter, ”she said.
According to the regional minister, the farewell to the artist will take place on March 3 at the Russian Drama Theater from 09:00 to 11:00. At 11:30 a funeral service will be held in the Cathedral of the Holy Righteous Warrior Theodore Ushakov.
It is clarified that recently the national artist was sick, but, despite this, she was interested in cultural life and received guests.
According to the agency, Antonova was a soloist of the song and dance ensemble "Umarina" and the Mordovian State Philharmonic, and a song called "Umarina" in her performance is the hallmark of the region.
Earlier in St. Petersburg, at the 88th year of his life, the people's artist of Russia, composer Sergey Slonimsky, died.
