China has withdrawn a widely popular computer game, from the Chinese application store, and its players are creating and spreading a deadly virus around the world.

The game, called Plague, is played by more than 130 million users and is considered the best strategy simulation game in the world, the aim of which is to create a lethal disease in a Chinese laboratory, and spread it across as many countries and people as possible.

It is not yet clear why the Chinese cyberspace administration withdrew the game, according to what media sites have reported, and whether it was linked to the outbreak of the new Corona virus, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan. The UK-based company that created Plague, which is based in the UK, claims that "the paid game is the most popular in China for many years." And increased demand for it last month to become officially the most downloaded games in the Chinese version of the «Apple Store».

The game's developers released a statement indicating that it was not clear to them whether this withdrawal was linked to an outbreak of the Coruna virus. They added, however, that the educational importance of Plague Inc is repeatedly recognized by organizations such as the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and we are currently working with major global health organizations to identify how best to support their efforts to contain and control Covid 19.
