Lack of sleep affects mood, productivity and rest, and four out of ten people do not get enough sleep.

The causes of sleep disturbance differ from one person to another, except that what we eat and drink also affects the sleep process and its regularity.

Sleep expert Olivia Arezzolo revealed to the British "Daily Mail" newspaper about five common foods that we should avoid before bed, namely:

1- Coffee - even decaffeinated coffee: Coffee is a source of caffeine, and decaffeinated coffee also contains this substance, and it is advised to replace coffee in the evening with mint or chamomile tea.

2- Dark chocolate: Although it contains magnesium, it is rich in caffeine and contains up to 25 percent of a regular cup of coffee.

3- Cheese: Some studies indicate the association of eating cheese before bedtime with disturbing dreams, and researchers refer the reason for the influence of cheese on mood and perception.

4- Spicy food: strong spices affect deep sleep and impede sleepiness.
