A new study indicates that hand and foot disease can hold the key to treating the most powerful cancer in the world, according to the British "Mirror" website

British scientists have found that the virus contains a protein that kills pancreatic tumor cells, which can lead to new treatments for the most deadly types of cancer around the world, with only one in twenty patients surviving after five years of diagnosis.

The study identified a portion of the peptide or protein in the virus capable of targeting 'v' 6, a molecule present on the surface of pancreatic cancer cells.

Pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed late because early symptoms may not be specific in its early stages, and there are few treatment options for pancreatic cancer patients, and cancer becomes resistant to chemotherapy after a period of treatment begins.
