The Hong Kong Film Awards, the Hong Kong equivalent of the Oscars, have been postponed indefinitely due to the corona virus.

- We cannot offer enough face masks and disinfectants to ensure the safety of our colleagues. We can't take that risk, says board member Derek Yee, reports Variety.

One should now review the forms of the galaxy, and hope to keep it in some form in May. Among the nominees are among others Derek Tsang's film Shao nian de ni and Suk Suk by Ray Yeung.

The virus has already hit hard on Hong Kong's film industry, with sharply declining film revenue. The government has encouraged cinemas to keep closed. The virus has also caused Hong Kong's biggest music festival and biggest art festival to be canceled this year.
