The appearance of the Egyptian artist, Nahed El Sebaei, at the opening ceremony of the Aswan International Film Festival for Women, which started yesterday evening Monday in the city of Aswan in the far south of Egypt, caused controversy through social networking sites.

The artist on the red carpet of the festival wore a dress designed by Muhannad Kojak, which is inspired by the "kufarta", a type of blankets made of cotton, and spread in Egyptian homes, and was famous for manufacturing the Mahalla spinning factories in the Delta of Egypt since the 1960s. Al-Sibai published a video through her account on "Instagram", in which she reviewed her dress, saying: "You like my cover."

Many of the pioneers of social networking sites criticized the dress, as some considered it an "over" attempt to draw attention, while others made comments of the quality of "my grandmother's cover remained fashion", and "from the cold I took the cover together" .. and other comments.

For her part, Nahed El Sebaei said that Muhannad Kojak is a genius designer because he can make wonderful things from simple materials.

The young designer had launched, earlier, a set of designs inspired by the "Kufrat" in honor of his grandmother.
