Construction started on October 10 last year to rebuild Shuri Castle in Naha City, where a major building was burned down.

In a major fire at Shuri Castle in October last year, the main buildings including the main hall, the northern hall and the southern hall were completely burned down.

On the 10th, more than three months later, the government started work on reconstruction. On the 10th, about 20 workers worked on assembling the scaffolding and collecting and moving the tiles falling around. In the future, we will proceed with the construction of demolishing the north and south halls where some buildings remain.

On the other hand, reconstruction of the burned down Tadashi is under specific consideration at a meeting of government experts, and construction is to be carried out based on the conclusions there.

Governor Tamaki of Okinawa Prefecture also visited the scene, stating, "I want the citizens of the prefecture and tourists to see the rising Shuri Castle until the restoration of Shuri Castle."

The government is aiming to open the World Heritage site under the main shrine by the May holidays.
