Thomas Dalmasso and Bérangère Lanteri are not born athletes. Sport has invited itself into their lives after two big blows. “I returned to sport after a very big break. A friend challenged me after Prom'Classic. I wanted to take up the challenge, in delirium mode, and I signed up for Prom'Swim. Sport has allowed me to regain my dynamism, ”he explains.
Bérangère continues: “Rupture, divorce… I was hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic day and night for three months after having suffered from severe reaction depression. Sport at the day center allowed me to spend the days. It made me feel good psychologically. Sport makes it possible to forget the illness for a few hours, to do like everyone else, even better. "
In the summer of 2019, a new uppercut in Bérangère's life. Beginning of endometrial cancer. "Sport saved me once, it will save me a second time," she philosophizes. She decides to cross Lake Saint-Jean with Thomas. He who sought "to do something useful since the attack of July 14, 2016" finds meaning in this adventure.
A kitty to offer sports equipment
Still being followed in a day center, the teacher on sick leave notes that there is "not a lot of equipment" in the sports workshops and that the one present is often "defective". Thomas Dalmasso and Bérangère Lanteri therefore decided to launch an online kitty to offer sports equipment at the Saint-François clinic and at the Antoine-Lacassagne center in Nice.
To structure the project, they also created the association B te parle…, a name taken from the blog that Bérangère maintains. The two Azureans will share their adventures there and organize an event when they return when they close their kitty.
