A woman has a rare medical condition that causes eyelashes to grow on her gums in her mouth, according to the British "Mirror" website.

The woman's case dates back to 2009, when she noticed the growth of small hairs, and doctors diagnosed her with polycystic ovary syndrome and treated her with oral wounds and birth control pills.

The hairs stopped growing for 6 years, to reappear after they stopped eating the pimples, and as a result the hair began to appear not only in the gums, but also on its chin and neck.

Hair growth related to PCOS is "somewhat common, and common symptoms of PCOS include excessive hair growth on the face, back, or buttocks."

However, it is extremely unusual to see hair growth inside the mouth, according to the researchers.

The cause of hair growth in the mouth is still unclear, and researchers are now hoping for follow-up reviews to help further understand the process.
