Singapore's first human-to-human transmission Four people with no history of traveling to China Feb 4 20:53

The Singapore Ministry of Health announced on April 4 that a total of four people have been identified with the new coronavirus, despite having never traveled to China. This is the first time that a new coronavirus has been transmitted from person to person in Singapore.

Human-to-human transmission was confirmed in four women who had never traveled to China.

Two of these women, 28 and 48, were serving Chinese tourists at health-related products stores.

And the 32-year-old woman was a travel guide, guiding a Chinese tourist to the shop, and three people are believed to have been infected by the virus through serving Chinese tourists.

Another 44-year-old woman is believed to have become infected while living with a maid working at the home of an infected 28-year-old woman.

In addition, two people who returned from Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, were confirmed infected by the fourth day on a charter aircraft arranged by the Singapore government last month.

"The spread of the infection is limited and not large," said Singapore Minister of Health Gan Kim Young. This is 24 confirmed infections in Singapore.
