Operation of the Sea of Okhotsk "Drift Ice Story" from the train JR Sensui Line February 1 16:00

The "Ryuhyo Monogatari" service, which allows you to enjoy the view of the Sea of Okhotsk in winter from a train, started on January 1 on the JR Kusami Line in Hokkaido.

The Drift Ice Story runs between Abashiri Station and Shiretoko Shari Station on the JR Kusami Line for about one hour.

This season's service began on the 1st, and after the departure ceremony was held at Abashiri Station, we departed with about 100 people, mainly tourists from China.

The train is a two-car train, and the body based on the blue of the Sea of Okhotsk is painted with Ezoska Shiyuri and the Shiretoko Mountain Range.

I couldn't see the drift ice on the day yet, but tourists could look at the sea and snowy scenery of Okhotsk, where the white waves are standing, and get off at Kitahama Station, where the delicious wooden station building is popular, and take pictures. I enjoyed my trip.

Mr. Toshihiro Goto, Director of the Tourism and Commerce Department of Abashiri City, says, "I want to see many people use drift ice, but enjoy Okhotsk."

The Ryuhyo Monogatari will run twice a day between Abashiri Station and Shiretoko Shari Station until the 1st of next month.
