Citizen, Majid bin Salloum Al Falasi, crowns his unremitting efforts to complete the path of his father Al-Jallaf, Obaid Juma, developer of wooden ships industry in the region, by arriving at the last steps to register his name internationally in the Guinness Book of Records, by launching the largest wooden cargo ship in the world in Dubai Creek from Its design, which required three years of continuous work with the participation of 20 workers from the “Obaid Juma Bin Saloom Foundation”, which was laid down by the main father Al-Jallaf in 1972.

Bin Salloum succeeded in breaking the previous figure of the largest wooden ship in the encyclopedia, of the type "mule", known as "Al-Hashemi 2" in Kuwait, which is used as a large hall for parties in a hotel, with a length of 80.4 meters and a width of 18.7 meters and a load estimated at 2500 tons, where exceeded by "ship" Obaid, "with record numbers, recorded" the total length of 300 feet, equivalent to 90 meters, the width 68 feet, the equivalent of 20.6 meters, and a cargo estimated at more than 6500 tons, and a total weight estimated at more than 1500 tons. "

Bin Suloom told «Emirates Today» «I have always had a constant feeling of great gratitude for the father, not only compensating him for altruism by continuing his career after his death, giving up my government job that I got after studying business administration in the United States of America, and getting my first position in high school in the year 1989, and seeking to expand my business through the Obaid Juma Bin Saloom Foundation, which today is not only satisfied with the manufacture of developed wooden ships, but also intends to manufacture yachts and export them to European countries such as France, Italy and Switzerland.

Bin Salloum, the elder son of Al-Jallaf, continued: “I refused to make any aesthetic addition that distorts the view of the basic design of the ship, and I demolished part of the building to make correct additions in length and width of the ship, until it reached records that exceed the numbers of the recorded ship by many times.”

He noted «I was overwhelmed with great joy after we landed the ship from the Obaid Juma Bin Saloom Foundation, which overlooks the Dubai Creek, and it remains before us to complete the final touches of some simple works, such as dyeing the ship and laying cabins and others, to be ready for work in shipping after About two months, as it will depart from the port of Deira in Dubai.

Majid bin Salloum is keen to continue the path of the father Al-Jallaf, with the help of four of his brothers, and their 12-year-old son (Ubaid), who holds the honor of participating in the manufacture of the “Obeid Ship” the largest wooden cargo ship in the world, joins them.
