Bissie and Eyenga, Siamese sisters, were separated in Lyon in November 2019 - P. Breysse / HCL

Their story had touched the Lyonnais: Bissie and Eyenga, Siamese barely a year old, linked by the liver, were able to take a flight, this Tuesday morning, direction Yaoundé and their native country, Cameroon.

They had arrived in Lyon at the beginning of November in order to undergo an operation to separate them. All thanks to the association La Chaîne de l'Espoir, which organized the stay in France of the two sisters and their mother.

Successfully operated on 13 November by teams from the Bronx Mother Woman hospital, the two young girls recuperated with their host family in Ampuis. In perfect health two months after the operation, they were able to return to their country. They are now ready to explore life on their own, but not too far apart either.
