New blow for fans of Grey's Anatomy . After 15 seasons, Justin Chambers, who has played Alex Karev since the series began, leaves Seattle Grace Hospital for good. We have seen him coming since the start of season 16, his character having been dismissed by Miranda Bailey. This time, it's official. According to Variety on Friday, the 49-year-old comedian leaves Grey's Anatomy and his best friend Meredith.

The episode aired on November 14 was the last. "There is no good time to say goodbye to a series and a character who have determined so many things in my life over the past fifteen years," he said in a statement read by Variety. “For some time now, I have wanted to diversify my roles and my career choices. I will soon be 50 years old, I am supported by my remarkable wife and my wonderful children ”.

He did not forget to thank "the ABC family", Shonda Rhimes, the creator of the series and historical actors like Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson and James Pickens. Grey's Anatomy is, since its renewal in 2018, the longest prime time series in ABC history.
