"Invasion"

The first film premiere of Russian production in 2020 will be the tape of Fyodor Bondarchuk's "Invasion". The film continues the story of the characters of "Attraction", released in the winter of 2017. However, the director emphasizes that the new tape is addressed, including those who are not familiar with the previous picture.

The heroine of Irina Starshenbaum, Julia Lebedeva, became a student at Moscow State University, Artyom (Alexander Petrov, who was recognized as the best actor in 2019, returned to his role) suffered a terrible disease and is serving a sentence for attempting to kill his beloved, and the alien Hakon (Rinal Mukhametov) survived and even got a job, a house and a garden.

The heroes will meet again in order to counter the alien threat: artificial intelligence preys on Julia. He is so concerned about the girl’s abilities that he is ready to unleash an information war and flood Moscow.

Thirty (Dreissig)

This German drama about thirty years old is another good option for those who decide to spend January 1 in the cinema. The plot of the tape unfolds during the day and lines up around the party, which the company of friends organizes on the occasion of the birthday of one of them. The tape is conditionally divided into three parts - a day in anticipation of a party, a holiday and a "race" in Berlin clubs.

Against the backdrop of these events, the heroes are experiencing an age crisis. Some critics discerned Chekhov’s motives in the tape when, in a calm atmosphere, the lives of the heroes collapse, it would seem, for no reason.

The film was delivered as soon as possible - in just a few days - and with a minimal budget. For the main roles, the director, screenwriter and editor Simone Kostova, for whom this tape became her debut, invited her friends. In 2019, “Thirty” was shown at film festivals in Berlin, Rotterdam, Cheongju and Edinburgh.

Cats

Film adaptation of the legendary musical Andrew Lloyd Webber according to the poems of T.S. Eliot became one of the most anticipated premieres of the year. According to the plot, cats gather for an annual ball, after which one of them will go to feline paradise to be reborn (it is not in vain that these animals have nine lives).

The film was directed by Tom Hooper (“The King Says!”, “Les Miserables”), and the roles in the film were played by famous actors and showmen - Taylor Swift, Judy Dench, Idris Elba, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Rebel Wilson, James Corden, as well as ballet dancer Francesca Hayward.

However, it must be borne in mind that Western viewers (and even more so critics) greeted the picture coolly (and generally call it a failure): many scold computer graphics and the visual embodiment of the characters. It is also possible that fans will not like the adaptation of the original performance.

"Our kids"

Katya and her brother Kolya are brought up in an orphanage. Like other children, they love fairy tales, including those invented by the famous writer of the story of the sweet kingdom.

The favorite author of children is the wife of a candy tycoon and the mother of a little girl Sonya. She also loves fairy tales, and also believes that when the story is finished, their family will be happy again. To find out how the fairy tale ends, girls will have to switch places, and adults - to understand that there are no other children.

The roles in the film were played by Peter Fedorov, Oksana Akinshina, Roman Madyanov, Mikhail Efremov, as well as young actors Polina Simacheva, Diana Enakaeva, Daniil Chibrikov and others.

“He and She” (Deux moi)

Parisians Remy and Melanie live through a wall from each other, often find themselves in the same places, fall into similar situations - and at the same time can not meet. They want to love and be loved, but, solving many everyday problems, these two simply do not notice each other.

Here, viewers will find a touch of French humor inherent to classical comedies with Pierre Richard, and genuine Parisian romance (Amelie, Just Together). CEDRIC CLAPISCH, winner of the FIPRESCI Award at the Berlinale, put the picture “He and She,” and the main roles were played by Francois Civil, who was awarded the Cannes Film Prize as the best young actor, and Ana Girardot.

Notre Dame

The architect Maud Creion (the name of the heroine translates as “pencil”) has her own joys and sorrows: she brings up two children and works under the guidance of an unbalanced person. But her life will change thanks to the tender for the reconstruction of the square at Notre Dame Cathedral - by chance Maud turns out to be the winner, receives a contract for € 21 million, and at the same time recognizes the best man from his circle.

In difficult times for France, the actress, director and screenwriter Valerie Donzelli decided to express her love for Paris and Notre Dame, having shot a colorful comedy in the traditions of European cinema. The director is also in the lead role.

The Case of Richard Jewell

In 1996, during the Olympic Games in Atlanta, guard Richard Jewell managed to prevent the attack. Noticing a backpack with a bomb, he was able to evacuate people from the Centennial Park of the Olympics. But as soon as the investigation began, suspicions fell on him, and media speculation laid the foundation for slander and bullying.

Clint Eastwood decided to tell this difficult story, in recent years he has been more occupied with directing than acting. In the production of the tape involved Leonardo DiCaprio and John Hill.

Exorcist: Abaddon (The Assent)

After the death of his wife, Joel (Robert Kazinski) left his little son Mason (Kayden Dragomer). It is not easy for the boy to survive stress, and he is scared at first glance of harmless things. However, father gradually finds out that both of them have not far-fetched reasons for fear.

It turns out that the whole family is cursed, and the terrifying demon Abaddon moved into the child. To expel a demon from a boy, Joel will be helped by father Lambert (Peter Jason) and brother Michael. However, this time the rite is only the beginning of the struggle.

Contrary to the plot parallels and the coincidence of Russian-language headlines, the new tape is not connected with the horror from 1973 and subsequent films of the same subject.

Camouflage and Spying (Spies in Disguise)

Lance Sterling is the best spy on the planet who saves the world several times a day, speaks in the voice of Will Smith, and even takes care of taxpayer money. Soon he will have a particularly important task: to neutralize the criminal, whom no one was able to catch. But not alone, but with an employee of the secret laboratory, child prodigy Walter Beckett, who is very similar to the actor Tom Holland who voiced it.

However, due to an unsuccessful experiment, Lance is forced to continue the investigation on bird rights: instead of acquiring a new superpower, he will turn into a dove. Trying to adapt to a new situation, partners will survive a lot of fun adventures.

By the way, one of the producers of the tape was the creator of the Ice Age, the owner of the Oscar Chris Wedge.

“The Girl in the Maze” (L'uomo del labirinto)

Samantha (Valentina Belle) disappeared 15 years ago, and now she was found under mysterious circumstances. It turns out that the heroine does not remember anything and therefore can not tell the police either about her captor or about how she lived all this time.

The psychologist Dr. Green (Dustin Hoffman) will help the girl remember those tragic events: with his help, the girl will go into the dangerous maze of her own consciousness. Detective Bruno Genko (Tony Servillo) will also be engaged in the search for the criminal. Excitement adds a sad fact - most likely, this case will be the ending of the career of a terminally ill detective.

Well, the appearance in the picture of a white Bunny rabbit and speculation on the topic of madness refer to the famous Lewis Carroll books about Alice's adventures.

The second tape of the Italian director Donato Carrizi reinforces his corporate directorial style: the video is dark, starring Tony Servillo, the victim is a woman.
