A recent study has revealed new capabilities that chimpanzees enjoy enjoying music and dancing.

The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Tokyo, focused on 7 chimpanzees, listening to piano music for two minutes, 6 times a day for 6 days.

The researchers found that the monkeys had a sense of rhythm, as the monkeys were swinging their bodies and shaking their heads in a manner consistent with what they were listening to, as they sometimes clapped and moved their feet with music.

The study indicated that male monkeys respond more to music. Dancing movements were more evident when one of the monkeys stood on his feet, not on his four limbs, according to the British newspaper "Telegraph".

One of the monkeys, called "Akira", was present in the place where music has been playing for a longer period, indicating his deliberate pursuit of tones.
