In an authentic heritage atmosphere, and with a heavy presence from inside and outside the Emirates, Al Dhafra Festival 2019 continues its activities, until December 25th, in Zayed City in the Al Dhafra Region.

The 13th edition of the festival, which is organized by the Committee for the Management of Festivals and Cultural Programs in Abu Dhabi, has a remarkable presence not only of the citizens of the UAE but also of the Gulf citizens, whether they came to participate in the camel's decoration, or to enjoy the atmosphere of camping and heritage events.

The festival witnesses the active participation of official and private bodies and bodies in the state in various fields, which confirms the importance of the event as a platform to communicate with the public in the Al Dhafra region.

The festival crowned the winners of the Al-Dhafra Public Races of the Three Mataiya by camel camels, which are organized at the main site of the festival in Madinat Zayed in the Al-Dhafra Region, in the presence of the Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the Management of Festivals and Cultural and Heritage Programs in Abu Dhabi, Issa Saif Al Mazrouei, and the Director of the Planning and Projects Department in the Committee, Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, In addition to a large number of camel owners and lovers of competitions and traditional dressings.

For his part, Obaid Khalfan Al Mazroui said, "The guidance of the wise leadership is to benefit from the industrial revolution and artificial intelligence techniques in preserving the cultural and popular heritage of the Emirates, which is what Al Dhafra Festival is keen to establish by adopting modern technology in all its activities."

Obaid Al Mazrouei pointed out that the organizing committee of the Al Dhafra Festival was able to introduce modern techniques to count, support and evaluate participants in competitions, especially in camel and other accompanying events such as falcon, horse and saluki and dates, and focus on the importance of investment in defining the historical balance of Abu Dhabi and the cultural tourism qualifications that abound in it, stressing "The Emirati cultural scene has become rich with its traditional activities concerned with Emirati creativity and with heritage programs that evoke contemporary international best practices in this field."

Child Village

For his part, Abdullah Butti Al Qubaisi, Director of Events and Communication Department at the Committee for the Management of Festivals and Cultural Programs in Abu Dhabi said, “Through its daily competition, and with the support of various government agencies, the child’s village contributes to the development of creative and critical thinking skills among young adults, By asking innovative questions to the children participating in the competitions and their families ».

He explained that the competitions, which are presented to children during the festival on a daily basis, depend on developing the innovative and cognitive skills of the young people, in partnership with governmental bodies sponsoring the festival.

Today, the Arabian Saluki Heritage is launched within the activities of Al Dhafra Festival, which aims to preserve the acquisition of purebred breeds of hounds.
