The proposal to redirect Gothenburg University College to work against extremism came from the Selma University Association, and its chairmen Lisbeth Sundén Andersson (M) and Ann-Sofie Hermansson (S), as the Cultural News previously reported.

Voted down

But the initiative got the hang of the regional board on Tuesday, something the Gothenburg Post was the first to report.

- Right now, it is not relevant to take over any of our public public colleges, "Conny Brännberg (KD), chair of the region's cultural committee, told the newspaper.

- On the other hand, it is free for the Selma Association to start from the beginning and apply to the National Education Council for funding to create a school under its own auspices.

Facilitated teacher corps

The proposal received harsh criticism from the teachers at the school, who were concerned about political control of the education and the film students' production.

- We are very relieved and get rest work again, says Johanna Bernhardson, one of the teachers at the school who criticized the proposal, to the Culture News.
