On the afternoon of the 18th, I found a crack in the front wheel of the Peach Aviation aircraft that arrived at Narita Airport, and the airline is going to investigate the cause.
It was found by inspection of the aircraft after arrival that there was a crack in the front wheel of Airbus A320, Peach Aviation 584, which arrived at Narita from New Chitose before 2:00 pm on the 18th.
The crack was about 3 centimeters long, and 143 passengers were not injured, but the subsequent three flights that were scheduled to use this aircraft were delayed.
When Narita Airport Company temporarily closed the runway and examined it, it was found that pieces of ceramic plates were scattered nearby.
The shards were large, about 7 cm long, and there were traces like treading on the tires.
Peach Aviation commented, “I am sorry for the passengers on delayed flights. I will investigate the cause of the crack and take action.”
