Mr. and Mrs. Akishino attend the International Biology Award Ceremony November 29, 19:45

The award ceremony for the International Biology Award presented to researchers who have made excellent achievements in the field of biology was held in Tokyo on the 29th with attendance of Mr. and Mrs. Akishinomiya.

The International Prize for Biology was established to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Emperor Showa, who was eager to study biology.

The award ceremony has been attended by the Emperor and his wife until last year.

At the ceremony held at the Japan Academy Hall in Ueno, Tokyo, an award-winning American professor received a certificate from Harvard University professor and Dr. Naomi Ellen Pierce.

Dr. Entomology's authority has clarified the evolution of the symbiotic relationship between ants and lymph butterflies and the involvement of intestinal microorganisms in ant diversification.

After that, Mr. Akishinomiya gave a congratulatory statement, saying, "The professor's research has greatly advanced the biology of insects."

Mr. and Mrs. Akishino were applauded when Dr. Pierce stated the pleasure of receiving a speech and the words of gratitude to his fellow researchers.

After this, a commemorative party was held, and the couple exchanged words with Dr. Pierce and other biologists at home and abroad.
