Some 180,000 visitors, young and old, are expected until December 2 at the 35th Salon du livre and the youth press, which is held every year in the eastern suburbs of Paris.

Allow yourself to slow down, read, hang out, dream, create. This is the motto of this 35th edition placed under the sign of slowness. The book fair and youth press (SLPJ) Montreuil takes the counterpart of the time when digital allows all instant interconnections.

The big exhibition presents four spectacular installations made from albums using various techniques: pop-up folding, laser cutting, engraving or charcoal ... Works that have required days of work and invite the public to take the time to discover them.

Nearly 250 authors and 450 exhibitors

The show is also an opportunity for young readers to attend debates, to be autographed books by their favorite authors. Some 250 authors and illustrators will be present during these six days.

As every year, the Pépites de Montreuil, which will be awarded this Wednesday by juries of children and adolescents, guide the most curious to the best books or albums of the year. A total of 450 French and foreign exhibitors participated in the event, including several publishers and authors of the island of Reunion, a large guest of Montreuil this year.
