According to seismologists, the quake epicenter was located in the Adriatic Sea, 42 km northwest of the Albanian capital Tirana.

The hearth lay at a depth of 10 km.

On November 26, an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred near Tirana. According to the Associated Press, 25 people died as a result of a natural disaster.

In connection with the state of emergency, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced an emergency mode in the cities of Tirana and Durres and canceled the celebrations on the occasion of National Flag Day.
