A venture company in Hokkaido, which made the first privately developed rocket in the country to reach outer space, announced a plan to launch Unit 5 this winter.

The venture company “Interstellar Technologies” in Taiki-cho, Hokkaido has been developing rockets independently, and Mr. Takafumi Horie, director, also attended a press conference in Tokyo on the 26th. Announced to launch from Taiki-cho launch site this winter.

Unit 5 has a total length of 10 meters and has the same structure as before except for the failure of the launch of Unit 4 and improvements to some parts of the electrical system, etc. It is equipped with a device for observing ultra-low frequency sound on the upper layer and coffee beans.

This time, in order to gain results, we are going to challenge the winter launch for the first time. This rocket launched Unit 1 in 2017 and has been launched four times so far. In May, Unit 3 reached the space of 100 km altitude. The altitude has not been reached.

President Takahiro Inagawa says, “It's a challenge to launch in mid-winter in winter in Hokkaido, but we want to make it a success and make a breakthrough in the future.”
