The right moment at the perfect moment. This is how the photograph was taken that shows how an Emirates A380 plane escaped through lightning during a storm that hit New Zealand on Wednesday. The image is so shocking that it went viral in a matter of hours.
The plane was standing on one of the runways of the Christchurch airport when in the middle of the storm a lightning bolt fell just behind the device to a few centimeters. At that moment Daniel Currie , from the Garden City Helicopters aviation agency, took the picture and published it in the 1 News media.
For more than six hours, more than 1,500 rays fell on that area of New Zealand, with hail, gusts of wind and even tornadoes.
