Next year's common test English will measure “reading and listening” as usual 15:18 on November 15

A common test for admission to universities where the introduction of an English private exam was postponed. The University Entrance Examination Center announced that next year, the English language used in the common test will measure the two skills of “reading ability” and “listening ability” as before.

Instead of the center exam, the “University Admission Test” starting next year has been postponed this month because the English private exam, which was planned to be introduced, is “deficient in the system”.

In response to this, the University Entrance Examination Center announced the details of the English questions that will be conducted in the common test.

According to this, the new common test English measures the two skills of "reading ability" and "listening ability" as usual with the mark sheet method and the listening test method.

The two test points will be changed from the previous mark sheet method to 200 points and the listening test from 50 points to both 100 points.

As a result, the pronunciation and accent of words that were previously presented and the problem of rearranging English sentences correctly will be stopped.

“We were surprised at the postponement announcement and urgently studied with experts,” said Toshihiro Shirai, the university entrance examination center.

“Measurement of writing ability and speaking ability is difficult with the current center system, so I would like to continue to improve while maintaining the existing examinations.”
