It was a pure coincidence that Östen Johansson discovered that the true crime pod would do two episodes about Ida, 21, who was murdered in the jogging track in Upplands Väsby in the summer of 2015. No one had contacted the family about the publication and for the family it came as a shock.

- It came as a blow to the face. We had no idea that this was coming, Östen Johansson has previously told the Culture News.

He immediately contacted the Trial Court to stop the paragraphs, but was denied. In May 2018, against the will of the family, an hour-long episode was first published - and then another half-hour-long section labeled "extras" - in which the killer describes in detail what he exposed Ida to.

"Moral New Orientation"

But following the criticism from relatives, the trial podium backs, and during Friday the sections were removed.

“Today, via SVT, we understand that the material around our daughter Ida has been removed from the range of the trial pod. We are immensely pleased as a victim of crime that the trial court shows a moral new orientation that will also pave the way for others who so wish to have podcasts deregistered, ”writes Östen Johansson in an e-mail to the Cultural News.

Can be republished

But when the Cultural News reaches Nils Bergman, it turns out that the section may be re-published, but that the issue will be discussed between Nils Bergman and Jonas Häger, who is said to be the responsible publisher for the trial podium.

"The case of the East is the only one where we have been contacted by a relative before publication, and I feel that in that turn there was a miscommunication between me, PodMe and Jonas in how it was handled," Nils Bergman writes in a text message.

“I'm not sure how we answered him. Until I straighten out how we reasoned, I see it as appropriate that the section is down for the time being ”.

The cultural news has talked to five families whose cases have been raised in the podium against their will, including the parents of the murdered Tova Moberg and Anna whose baby was thrown into a power plant pond. The sections about them still remain.
