“Not so long ago, only professionals guessed the existence of modern composers - now they have become full members of the family of art professions along with directors, artists or writers. In recent years, the boom of composer contests, which took place mainly in chamber formats, has been steadily increasing. Some of them have previously received support from the Presidential Grants Fund, but the “Score” is the first composer competition directly inspired by the authorities, ”said Peter Pospelov, one of the organizers of the contest, to RT.

The competition’s expert council has already included: Pavel Kogan, artistic director and chief conductor of MGASO, Dmitry Bertman, art director of the Helikon Opera theater, composer Rashid Kalimullin, pianist, composer and music critic Peter Aidu.

The competition is carried out using a grant from the President of Russia provided by the Presidential Grants Fund.
