In my childhood home there was not a single book . Not even the Bible, that we didn't need it either because it was recited by the priest of the people in Mass, catechesis, novenas and offices. Sacred history was transmitted to us orally and was stored there, in a place in the brain, until today. Neither a book by hand at home nor almost in the village, except for the communal encyclopedias of the elementary school.The teacher, the apothecary, and of course the priest, had bookshelves with books .
