An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale jolted the northeastern Iranian city of Hashtrod early on Friday and the US Geological Survey said the quake struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, the US news agency Bloomberg reported.

There were no immediate reports of casualties. This is the second earthquake to hit Iran in the last hours, with an earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale on Thursday night in the town of Ruider, in the province of Hormozgan in southern Iran.
