The Emperor and his wife saw a special exhibition on the 6th that looked back on the history of visits to the Emperor and the royal family since the Meiji period.

This special exhibition is being held at the National Archives in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, to commemorate the imperial throne, and the Emperor and his wife arrived at the venue after 10 am.

After the Great Kanto Earthquake, the Emperor Showa, who was the Crown Prince at that time, as a regent of Emperor Taisho, who was being treated for illness, had a logbook that his close friends had visited after visiting the affected areas in Tokyo and Yokohama. Approximately 60 items such as materials when the Emperor and royalty visited various places in the country are exhibited.

In the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, there was also a document that the Imperial Household Agency told the cabinet that the Imperial and his wife, who were the crown princes at that time, attended the opening ceremony and visited the competition venue. At the same time, when the Emperor expressed his impression of “nostalgic,” the Empress was nodded with a smile.

In addition, records of the disaster area visits that were repeated during the Heisei era such as the Great East Japan Earthquake were also exhibited, and when the person in charge finished explaining, the Emperor was saying “Thank you so much” .

This special exhibition will be held at the National Archives in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo until 10th of this month.
