Editor-in-chief Vian Tahir has written about an "emergency crisis" in social media. Bang's subscription income has been halved in the last 3 years, a physical number has been canceled and this spring almost the entire board was replaced.

Bang, together with magazines such as Ord & Bild, 10TAL, Paletten, Karavan and Glänta receives the Swedish Arts Council's largest magazine support of SEK 675,000. Bang has reported a deficit of SEK 200,000 in applications for the past two years.

- It is imperative to find other sources of income, says the Board's spokesperson Emilie Roslund to the Work.

Started rescue campaign

Last fall, the magazine launched the "Save the Bang" campaign and acquired 700 subscribers. These have been unsuccessful for the next year. In order to save SEK 225,000, Bang has now resigned its office premises. In December, the future of the paper magazine will be decided.

- If it is that the magazine can no longer be published in physical form, we intend to repack Bang and run the newspaper completely digitally, says Emilie Roslund.

Bang was founded in 1991 and has long been a feminist and racist voice in the Swedish media debate. The tone has shifted from academic discussion to personal and identity politics.
