The Emperor and Empress invited the recipients of this year's cultural medal and the cultural merits to the Imperial Palace to hold a tea party and be neglected.
The tea ceremony was held at the Imperial Palace from around 2:30 pm with Mr. and Mrs. Akishino and his eldest daughter, Reiko and her second daughter, Yoshiko.
Six recipients of this year's cultural medal, including Akira Yoshino, who was also selected as a Nobel Prize in Chemistry, and Nomura Satoshi Nomura, and a film director, Nobuhiko Obayashi, a film director 20 people attended.
First, the recipients of the Order of Culture exchanged greetings with His Majesty, and the Cultural Meriters were introduced. “I am delighted,” he said.
