According to experts, one of the reasons could be the fall of the "Big Three" of pirated CDNs, which supplied up to 90% of online movie theaters in Russia and the CIS.

The anti-piracy memorandum could have had its effect. According to experts, the consistent adoption of relevant laws has created a powerful base for the fight against online piracy in the form of “eternal” blocking of sites and their “mirrors”.

At the same time, experts note that the desire of citizens to watch illegal content has not disappeared, and even increased slightly - by 0.06% compared to 2018.

Earlier media reported that the court decisions to block pirated content will be checked by independent instances - separate appeal and cassation courts.
