The Lancet Journal of Respiratory Medicine has published a study that warns against smoking a few cigarettes a day.

Smoking less than five cigarettes a day gives the same effects as smoking a full package.

The study examined smoking habits and effects among more than 25,000 Americans between the ages of 17 and 93. It assesses lung function by measuring the amount of air that can be exhaled per second, as well as how much air the lungs can release overall after deep breathing. Then researchers track participants for up to 20 years, during which time a spirometry test was performed. At least twice to assess change Rat in lung health.
