Invited Monday from Europe 1, the founder of People Closer magazine announced that she plans to launch her own independent media, "Alternative Vegan"

INTERVIEW

After 14 years at the head of Closer , Laurence Pieau changes her register. This figure of people's journalism is indeed one of the many journalists who decided to leave the group Mondadori after its acquisition this summer by Reworld Media. And for her next adventure, she decided to create her own independent media, Alternative Vegan . "I would like to do the Mediapart junk food," she said Monday on Europe 1.

"It's a media that will talk about veganism, but a reasoned veganism, measured, not excluding," she describes at the microphone of Philippe Vandel, in Culture Media . "This media will address the issue of food and address everyone," she said, "all those interested in the impacts of food on their health, on the environment, on animal suffering, will find doctor interviews (...) we will do investigations on food scandals, junk food ".

"Totally free content for now"

Already at the head of Alternative Vegan , which has been taking the form of a newsletter for several months, Laurence Pieau announces an "ad-free" media, of which she is still composing the editorial team, which should include journalists from 'investigation. Regarding the financing of this project, the former boss of Closer explains that the content "is totally free for now". The idea is to raise the audience to weigh on all these topics. And once we have proven ourselves, we will ask people to support our investigations. "And for her new media, Laurence Pieau is ambitious:" I would like to do the Mediapart of junk food ".
