At the age of 15, he lies on his age, takes a ferry and leaves alone to work in Manchester, where he applied for a job as a bellboy. "I lived with my mother (in Reims) who had few means, so to buy me a moped or records, I worked every summer I applied everywhere, and this is the only answer that I had, so I went to Manchester, took the ferry, and when I arrived they kept me, "the singer continued.
