FRANCE MOVES

The numbers are alarming. One in five children is overweight or obese, two out of five are in poor neighborhoods and 30% of two-year-olds consume sodas. "These figures are not acceptable," indignant Eleanor of Saint-Seine in "France moves", led by Raphaëlle Duchemin on Europe 1.

To alleviate the problems of malnutrition of young children, the young woman has created with his childhood friend Caroline Le Viet social enterprise Edumiam. To study this project, Fleur Pellerin, former minister delegated to SMEs, innovation and the digital economy of governments Ayrault and president of the fund Korelia Capital is accompanied by Marie Eloy, manager and founder of the network Bouge ta Box, a "100% female business network".

Edumiam, what is it?

It's personalized advice to parents, delivered by nutrition professionals via the Facebook messaging interface. "Edumiam brings together tools that give free advice from experts in an extremely fun way, just go to Facebook Messenger and type Edumiam in the search bar, at which point the 'coach Edumiam' will send you one to two notifications per week, totally personalized according to the age of the child and therefore his needs, "explains Eléonore de Saint-Seine. Thus, you can receive advice like: "Your child has just been six months, think to give him the egg. This can prevent risks of allergy. Not more than two teaspoons, it does not have need more ".

The founder of Edumiam explains how important it is to feed her children well: "Today, it is not so simple to have access to quality information and that is fun. learned after the fact that we should not give honey to a child before 1 year.It is incredible when we know that the quality of food that is given during early childhood is key to physical development but also cerebral and that it has consequences on the whole adult life ".

What did Fleur Pellerin and Marie Eloy think?

The first questions that come to Marie Eloy: who are the specialists who provide advice and what is the economic model of Edumiam? For the first question, "all information comes from the National Health Nutrition Program (PNNS)," says Eleanor Saint-Seine. The information is then revalidated by a committee of experts, composed of pediatricians, dieticians-nutritionists and psychologists specializing in early childhood. The economic model is "based on a second activity". The founder explains: "We are also doing training on the subject of nutrition for early childhood professionals". The trainings are offered on mobile, to be adapted to the best availability of each. The price ? 150 euros per training per learner. Target ? The 700,000 professionals in France, from early childhood.

Fleur Pellerin, she wonders about the added value of this service: "The information you give comes from the PNNS, they are therefore public service and are publicly available Are you sure you bring added value?". Answer: "This kind of information comes either from the pediatrician or from the internet, for example the 'eat-move' site is very good but it is not very digestible, you have to read everything. the world uses them but we find everything here, we offer tailor-made, you do not even need to search ".

The future prospects for Edumiam are artificial intelligence. Thanks to this technology, the company hopes to further personalize its service.
