MBC4 launched the long-running Arabic drama series "The Bride of Beirut", which will start on Sunday, with the participation of a group of Arab actors, and the introduction of a song by the Palestinian star Mohammed Assaf.
Ali Jaber, general manager of channels at MBC Group, said during a recent ceremony in the Lebanese capital that the "Bride of Beirut" opens the way for a different style of Arab drama productions, the long series of episodes. He considered that the series, is the first step of its kind, to upgrade the drama that the group is producing for the next stage.
Jaber stressed that «this type of series is popular in a number of countries where it is distinguished and exported to the world for several decades».
For his part, the artist Zafer al-Abidin expressed his happiness about the launch of the work on the screen, stressing that «the public will interact with the story and with the beautiful love story between Faris and Soraya». He added, "I made the decision to miss the Ramadan competition, which I have been in for seven consecutive years, for a dramatic project that I believed in, (the bride of Beirut) and I am eagerly waiting today for the viewer's reaction to it."
"I hope the public will notice the great efforts that we have made to make the work a success," said Carmen Besibes.
Takla Chamoun said she was eagerly awaiting the viewers' reactions to the character she presented in the series, which she described as "not easy."
