Emirati adventurer Khalifa Al Mazrouei yesterday unveiled his “Hope Summit” initiative, during which the Russian Mount Elbrus, Europe's highest peak, is climbing to raise funds to support children with cancer.

His trip, which begins on September 3, aims to provide moral and material support for children with the disease, pointing out that it comes with the support of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, which gave him the opportunity to visit the infected children.

“His journey is not limited to the rise of the Albros summit, which stands at 5,642 meters above sea level, to raise funds, contribute to cancer awareness and promote the culture of noble volunteerism among Emirati youth.”

He pointed out that he will raise on the top of the mountain the UAE flag, the flag bearing the emblem of the Society of Friends of Cancer Patients, as well as a plaque presented to him by a child with leukemia, as he made a promise to raise it on top of Elbrus.
