British actor Tim Roth says hatred fueled by populism has worsened the political landscape in Britain and abroad.

Ruth, 58, began his career as a racist in Britain in the 1980s.

Ruth, who co-starred in Reservoir Dogs and Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, was speaking at the Sarajevo Film Festival, where he was honored.

"It is worse now, because the hatred fueled by populism is leading the political movements in the country," he said in an interview organized by the festival on Sunday.
