The jury's prize consists of members from the board of the Swedish Writers' Association and has a prize sum of SEK 50,000.
"With the Madeleine Gustafsson Prize, we hope to be able to contribute to enriching the profession's temporal aspects as well as its elements of intellectual independence and art," the jury chairman Jörgen Gassilewski said in a press release.
The award is named after the author and literary critic Madeleine Gustafsson, who the Author Association describes as a role model in the critique with her "ease, humor, education and stylistic accuracy".
