With a new cloth that was co-manufactured by 160 technicians and manufacturers, the Kaaba was decorated yesterday, during a special ceremony, running on the habit of the General Presidency of the Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque on this day of each year.
The Undersecretary-General for the Holy Mosque Affairs, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Mansouri, announced that the old cladding of the Kaaba was lowered, and replaced with the new cladding, consisting of four separate aspects, and the door curtain.
He explained that the cladding, which was made in the compound of King Abdulaziz for the cladding of the Kaaba, is scarred from the outside with woven patterns of black weaving (jacquard), which read: «O God, God», and «there is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God», and « Hallelujah and praise », and« Hallelujah great », and« O Dayan, O Manan », and repeated these phrases on pieces of cloth cladding all.
He explained that the cladding consumes about 670 kilograms of raw silk, which is dyed inside the complex in black, and 120 kilograms of gold wire and 100 silver wire.
He pointed out that he works in the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Kaaba cladding supervisor nearly 200 manufacturers and administrators, all of the trainers, qualified and specialists, indicating that the sections of the complex are: Department of dyeing and automatic weaving, manual textile department, printing section, belt section, gilding section, section sewing and assembly cladding It has the largest sewing machine in the world in terms of length, with a length of 16 meters, and is computerized.
He stated that there are some support departments, such as: laboratory, administrative services, quality, public relations and health of workers and occupational safety in the complex.
It is noteworthy that the old cladding is divided into small pieces, and distributed to prominent figures and organizations proud of these precious pieces.
