Road construction company Employees are overworked and certified “Saturday, Sunday and work days off” August 6th 17:37

A 46-year-old male employee of a road construction company headquartered in Niigata City fell down while working last year and died, and the Labor Standards Inspection Office recognized it as a work-related accident due to long working hours.

A 46-year-old man who worked at a sales office in Kanagawa Prefecture of Fukuda Road, a road construction company headquartered in Niigata City, was recognized as an industrial accident.

The man was in charge of on-site supervision and business management, but fell down on duty last May and died of subarachnoid hemorrhage.

According to the bereaved family and agent, the company's attendance record indicated that they worked every day at 8 am and left at 5 pm. It was found that overtime hours per month exceeded 80 hours on average during the six months.

For this reason, the supervisory office was certified as an occupational accident last month because it overworked due to long working hours.

“I don't understand that even though early departures and overtime continued every day, I had to submit a work schedule at the prescribed time, and I had to rest even if I went to work on a weekend. I wanted the environment to be able to submit an accurate work schedule at least. "

On the other hand, Fukuda Road commented, “We take solemnly the fact that we were unable to prevent occupational accidents, and we will strengthen our efforts to prevent long working hours and holidays, and work to prevent recurrence”.
