A man killed a young boy and wounded his mother in a train station in the German city of Frankfurt, the Daily Mail reported.
The man pushed the boy and his mother on the rails when the express train arrived, the newspaper said.
A German police spokeswoman said the mother managed to save herself, but the train ran over her child as he was fatally wounded.
The man was arrested near the station, after fleeing after the crime.
The mother of the child was taken to a hospital and interrogated, subject to treatment.
Police have begun investigating the suspect, whose motive has not yet been made clear
