The Sharjah Police General Command warned members of the public not to deal with some of the text messages received from unknown persons on their private phones claiming that they are bank employees under the pretext of updating their bank statements and carrying the numbers and slogans of the banks they deal with only after confirming the source of such messages through the official banking channels.

The leadership indicates that some unknowns send text messages or e-mail asking people for information related to their bank accounts and debit card numbers, where this information is used to access their accounts and steal their money.

The Sharjah Police General Command urges members of the public to refrain from disclosing their personal and banking data to any party, and to clear their banking transactions through the service windows offered by their banks or through official applications via smart phones.
