The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation announced today the entry into force of the mutual visa exemption agreement between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea as of Sunday, 28 July 2019.

Under this agreement, citizens of the State can travel to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and enter its territory without a prior visa and stay there for 90 days.

This is in accordance with a mutual visa exemption agreement between the Government of the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, signed in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, on 28 June 2019.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Yacoub Yousef Al Hosani, Assistant Minister for International Organizations Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and by the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea HE Simeon Ayuno Asuno Angie, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

According to the exemption agreement, the holders of special diplomatic passports / service issued by the two countries may enter the territories of the two countries without a prior visa and stay there for 90 days.

Citizens of the UAE who are holders of a normal passport are entitled to a visa upon arrival at the international border ports of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea after payment of visa fees, or through representative missions of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea around the world, and stay there for up to 90 days.

HE Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said: "The initiative of the Government of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea to exempt UAE nationals from diplomatic, private and ordinary passports from the previous entry visas is an important achievement in addition to the achievements of UAE diplomacy led by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al - Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

He added that this decision was a translation of the strong relations between the two friendly countries, which were built on the basis of mutual cooperation in various political, economic and trade fields.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation affirmed that the exemption of UAE citizens from the entry visa to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea reflects the UAE's international standing and respect and confidence. It also reflects the keenness of the friendly Government of Equatorial Guinea to strengthen relations with the UAE and promote common interests in various fields. .
