May 22, 1924 in Paris, was born one of the most famous French musicians - chansonnier Charles Aznavour, who was later called the best performer of the 20th century. During his career, Aznavour wrote about 1,300 songs, played in 60 films and sold over 200 million records. His compositions were included in the repertoire of other famous artists, in particular Ray Charles, Bob Dylan, Liza Minelli, Edith Piaf, Julio Iglesias and others. Aznavour never forgot about his Armenian origin - on the 60th anniversary of the genocide, in collaboration with George Harvarents wrote the song "They Fell", and in 1988 after the earthquake in Spitak founded the charitable association Aznavour for Armenia. In 2008, Aznavour received an Armenian passport.
