Research on planets outside the solar system has concluded that the universe may contain giant aquatic worlds. The diameter of the "small neptune" planets ranges from two to four times the diameter of the Earth.

Scientists have so far discovered thousands of them in different solar systems, based on their analysis of densities and other properties, and scientists have concluded that many of these small neptune planets are not simply dwarf dwarfs as they had previously thought, but gigantic water worlds.
